For CA: Technical Info
Dipel DF is a biological insecticide containing the bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis or Bt. It is used specifically for caterpillars which are the worm like larvae of butterflies and moths. After ingesting a lethal dose, larvae stop feeding within the hour, and will die within several hours to 3 days. Because of its specificity it has no or very low impact on non-target organisms. It is best used when the larvae are young, actively feeding but before the plants are damaged.
Classification: Organic / ingestion
Common Rose Pests Controlled:

Dipel DF is registered to control most caterpillar insects on fruits, citrus, tropical fruits, vegetables, grains, bulbs, flowers, herbs, turf, ornamental trees and shrubs.
Rate & Combinations:
2 to 4 teaspoons per gallon of water. Thorough spray coverage is needed because the insect pest must consume this material. Repeat applications may be necessary on 3 to 14 day intervals. Spreader stickers such as Hyper-Active can be added to improve weather-fastness of the spray.
